FAFSA

Free Application for Federal Student Aid

The FAFSA is a form that students complete to apply for financial aid, like grants (free money), loans (borrowed money) or work study (on-campus jobs). The form collects information about the student’s and their family’s financial situation, which the government and schools use to determine eligibility. Filling out the FAFSA is free, and it’s the first step in receiving financial assistance for higher education.

FAFSA also serves as the application for a TOPS Scholarship or TOPS Tech Award.

Graduating seniors should complete the 2025-2026 FAFSA form to apply for financial aid for the Fall 2025, Spring 2026, and Summer 2026 semesters.
