The TOPS University Diploma is intended for those students who aspire to enter a 4-year university, such as Southeastern, LSU or another 4-year university immediately or soon following graduation.

The TOPS University Diploma Pathway should not be confused with the TOPS Scholarship. That has different requirements, and the scholarship is not guaranteed for TOPS University Diploma Pathway students. 

Students must choose from the following courses in the TOPS University Diploma, for a total of at least 24 unit credits.  Students must also achieve at least a minimum GPA (Grade Point Average) calculated from core subjects (English, Math, Science, Social Studies) and the Foreign Language subject.  This GPA requirement varies depending on the university to which the student applies for admission.

ENGLISH (4 Units):

  • English I or English I Honors

  • English II or English II Honors

  • English III or AP English Literature & Composition 

  • English IV or English IV DE (College Composition)

math (4 Units):

  • Algebra I

  • Geometry

  • Algebra II

  • 1 Unit from the following: Advanced Math Pre-Calculus, Pre-Calculus DE (College Algebra S1 & College Trigonometry S2)

Science (4 Units):

  • Biology

  • Chemistry

  • 2 units from the following: Environmental Science or Environmental Science AP, Biology II, Physics, Human Anatomy & Physiology, Agriscience II (Ag I is a prerequisite) 

social studies (4 Units):

  • Civics

  • World Geography or AP Human Geography

  • U.S. History

  • World History or Western Civilization DE

Health (.5 Unit)

Physical Education (1.5 Units)

Art (1 unit)

electives (3 units)

Foreign Language (2 units)

  • Spanish I

  • Spanish II

Total Units: 24
