Why Choose TOPS U

A high‑school student chooses the TOPS University Diploma track when their next goal is attending a four‑year college or university and maximizing state scholarship eligibility.

 

TOPS U aligns with college admissions requirements (always check admissions requirements for your specific colleges of interest).

 

Completion of the TOPS U curriculum is mandatory for TOPS Opportunity, Performance, Honors, or Excellence award eligibility (4-year scholarships).​

Jump Start TOPS Tech

Why choose Jump Start

A student picks the Jump Start  TOPS Tech Diploma when their priorities are career readiness, hands‑on learning, and workforce entry. The path suits students targeting technical training, community college, or immediate employment over a traditional four‑year university route.

​

Students earn industry-based credentials while in high school.

 

Graduates can enroll in technical or community colleges, and later pursue a four‑year university after completing an eligible transfer associate’s degree.

 

Students can earn a TOPS Tech Award (2-year scholarship).

 

Jump Start requires are fewer advanced academic core requirements than TOPS U and has more applied versus academic electives.
