
FRENCH SETTLEMENT, LA – The French Settlement High School boys basketball team has been recognized for its outstanding performance in the 2023-24 season, with four players earning All-District 9-2A honors.
Leading the way, junior Beau Matherne was named to the All-District First Team for his exceptional contributions on both ends of the court. His skill was instrumental in the Lions' successful season.
Junior Trevor McMorris earned Second Team All-District recognition, showcasing his ability to make key plays and contribute significantly to the team's success.
Additionally, seniors Mason Hill and Jaxson Latimer received Honorable Mention honors, demonstrating the depth and talent of the Lions' roster this season.
The Lions finished the season with an impressive 20-12 overall record, going 4-1 in district play and securing a second-place finish in District 9-2A.
“We are extremely proud of our team’s effort this season,” said Head Coach Jake Bourgeois. “These players worked hard all year, and it’s great to see their dedication recognized at the district level.”
With a strong season behind them and key contributors earning well-deserved honors, the Lions look forward to building on this success in the coming seasons.
